À Propos de ce Livre

Marriage is one of the most beautiful institutions established by God. It is far more than a simple union between a man and a woman: it is a covenant, a responsibility, a school of life, and a privileged environment where love, faithfulness, respect, and faith can grow. However, building a strong and lasting home does not happen automatically. The love that unites two people must be nurtured, protected, and continually renewed. Differences in personality, upbringing, culture, vision, communication, and the management of responsibilities can become sources of tension if they are not addressed with wisdom. This is why a couple needs a solid foundation that goes beyond emotions and circumstances: the principles of God. The Bible declares: “Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” (Psalm 127:1). This statement is the foundation of this book. It reminds us that a truly strong home does not rest solely on human abilities, material resources, or feelings, but above all on the presence of God and on putting His Word into practice. This book is particularly intended for engaged couples preparing for marriage and for married couples already committed to their marital journey. It seeks to be a tool for teaching, reflection, and guidance, helping future spouses better understand the demands of marriage and enabling married couples to strengthen their relationship. For engaged couples, this book encourages them to prepare for marriage with seriousness and maturity. Marriage does not begin on the day of the wedding ceremony; it is prepared through the choices, conversations, values, commitments, and vision that future spouses develop together. It is therefore essential to discuss, before marriage, matters such as faith, responsibilities, communication, financial management, family relationships, the upbringing of children, forgiveness, faithfulness, and common goals. For married couples, this book reminds us that a home can always be improved and strengthened. Even when a couple faces difficulties, misunderstandings, or periods of crisis, rebuilding is possible when

spouses are willing to return to God’s principles, acknowledge their responsibilities, forgive one another, and work together. The purpose of this book is not to present an ideal marriage without difficulties. No home is made up of perfect people. The real challenge is to learn to love despite differences, communicate despite misunderstandings, forgive despite hurts, and remain united despite trials. A Christian home is called to be more than simply a place where two people live together. It should become a place of peace, love, respect, prayer, and spiritual growth. It should also be a living testimony of God’s love to children, family members, the Church, and society. The teachings presented in this book are based on biblical principles, while also seeking to address the practical realities of everyday life. It is not enough to know the teachings of the Bible; we must learn to put them into practicein our decisions, words, attitudes, and daily behavior. Every couple is unique, with its own history, strengths, weaknesses, and challenges. Therefore, this book does not claim to replace pastoral guidance, dialogue between spouses, or, when necessary, the assistance of qualified and competent professionals. Rather, it seeks to provide practical guidelines that encourage couples to reflect together, engage in meaningful dialogue, and grow in their commitment to one another. The deepest desire of this book is to contribute to the formation of stable, balanced, faithful, and God-centered homes, capable of going through the different seasons of life without losing their foundation. Building a home according to God’s principles is a process that requires time, patience, humility, and perseverance. But when God is placed at the center, spouses discover that marriage is not merely an institution to preserve: it becomes a mission to fulfill, a covenant to honor, and a blessing to pass on to others. May this book therefore be a companion to every engaged couple and every married couple in their journey of reflection, teaching, and growth. May it encourage future spouses to prepare wisely for their

covenant and help married couples renew their commitment to one another. May every home become a house built upon the rock: founded on God, rooted in His Word, strengthened by love, and able to withstand the storms of life. “Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain.”
